WHO WE ARE

The Dumbo Book Club is a relaxed, in person monthly (every last Wednesday evening) gathering for people who love good books and good conversations.

We keep it intentionally small so conversations stay real.

Each month we read one book and meet somewhere in Dumbo — the home base is Portrait Madame Studio space, but we also host it in different locations in Dumbo.

Each month we alternate between:

• FICTION
• NON FICTION / SELF DEVELOPMENT

So some months we escape into a story — other months we talk about ideas, ambition, work, and how we want to live.

HOW BOOKS ARE CHOSEN

There is no set book list: On a ROLLING & VOLUNTARY basis (no one is forced ;-)) , each month one member get to pick the next book and also get to lead the discussion during the meet up (with me as host, support and co-lead). As you are new, no worries at all: there will be a few meet-ups firsts for you to get to know other members.

Try to read the entire book before book club, or be prepared to hear spoilers about the ending.

WHAT THIS BOOK CLUB IS NOT

The discussion is absolutely oriented on the book and our opinions & perspectives around it. However this is not a book club where we study literature and get too serious. We are more focused on creating a social bond with the book & reading as the common denominator.
