About Literature Noir
Literature Noir started out as a book club for me, Jessica. I’m on a mission to educate myself on my blackness and dig deeper into literacy and wellness that doesn’t ignore me and people like me. This book club is for anyone interested in exploring works by BIPOC, trying to get out of a long reading slump, interested in getting back into reading, and of course fellow bookworms. We hold monthly meet-ups virtually. Books are selected by a theme, ie. June is Caribbean Heritage Month so I will pick a book by a Caribbean author. Book club members vote on themes, preferences, and discussion days. Please do not feel pressured to finish or read every book - I completely understand life happens and adulting sucks! Let's have fun, read and create community.
The books we focus on are fiction (fantasy, romance, historical fiction, etc) or autobiography/biography. Books are released on a quarterly basis and discussions are held during weekdays via Zoom.
