About Literature and Laughter for Ladies

Welcome to Literature and Laughter for Ladies. We are a women's only bookclub (we are queer friendly so open to those who identify as a woman). We host a monthly book club (usually) on the second Tuesday of each month, in Manchester city centre.

Literature and Laughter for Ladies is more than just a book club though, we also host lots of social events from literature related events, theatre and cinema trips, and coffee mornings. You can come along to any of our social events, without ever having been to a book club. Just click the RSVP button if you like the sound of it.

The venue we use for bookclub is not wheelchair accessible sadly, but some of the other venues we visit are. The venue for bookclub is (well behaved) dog friendly too.

If you love books, want to make new friends or just do something a bit different, come along and join us.

We look forward to meeting you

Membership Fees

Please note that there is an annual £5.00 membership which pays the Bookclub hosting fee and can be paid here: PayPal.Me/LLLBookclubFees

This is to be paid by ALL members each year in January, and any NEW members as you join the group please.

Any surplus at the end of the year will be donated to Emmeline's Pantry, a food bank charity we have supported since 2016.

RSVP

Please only sign up to an event if you fully intend to come along.

We would appreciate it if could change your RSVP if your plans change and you can no longer make it, wherever possible, no later than 24 hours before the event.

Social Events

You are responsible for purchasing your own ticket for our events (where applicable). If a pre-booked, ticketed event is cancelled by a third party, it is your responsibility to organise a refund with the venue.

Wheelchair access

For every event we organise, we aim to add if the venue has wheelchair access, as it’s important to us that our group is inclusive to all.
