About Fictional New York City: How Writers Experienced and Captured the City
This is a group for fiction lovers who want to meet fellow readers and experience different parts of the city.
We vote on what to read, and jointly decide on what discussion setting is best — whether that’s meeting in a bar or park an author frequented, in the cemetery where they’re buried or at landmark that showed up frequently in their book. The goal is to hit as many neighborhoods as possible while cultivating a casual, welcoming vibe.
The group meets monthly, usually the final Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. and caps attendance at about 12. We will decide on where to meet a week in advance when we are far enough along in the book to come up with decent ideas.
Please let Sarina know (sbrangle@gmail.com) 24 hours in advance if you can no longer make it to a meeting. That way the group can include others who were interested, but RSVPd after the meeting filled up.
