About Resist: The People's Antifacist Book Club

Personal Note: Hi! I'm just a lady living here in Los Angeles County who absolutely hates what I'm seeing around me. I wanted to start this club to help keep me accountable to educating myself, to better understand how to resist what is happening now and what is ahead, to build community with others and discuss how to apply what we're reading. Whether its just 1 other person or 100, I look forward to building a space where books become blueprints for resistance and conversation becomes community.

About The Club: Resist is a community space for readers, dreamers, and doers who believe that books can be catalysts for change. Each month we dive into works that challenge authoritarianism, unpack systems of oppression, and inspire collective action, from radical histories and political theory to fiction, memoir, and poetry that light the path toward justice.

You don’t have to finish the book to join us, come for the conversation, stay for the community. Our discussions focus less on perfect recall and more on real-world impact: how we can apply what we learn, support each other’s growth, and share resources that build antifascist understanding and solidarity in our daily lives.

We read to remember, resist, and rebuild. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your conviction, no prerequisites, just open minds and a shared commitment to learning together. During these times we need community and connection more than ever. That's what this space seeks to provide.

Meeting Locations/Times: Depending on where people join from I'm happy to rotate to different parts of LA and change up the time as well!
