As the author and creator of Aglio & Olio. I feel that they are two friends; anyone, no matter their age, can have them. As I wrote this, I wanted to allow families to read but also to let their imaginations create a fictional family, brother, or sister, or simply enjoy the wonders of Italy from the comfort of staying in bed. As technology has taken over the Imagination & Creativity of our future and older generations, my goal is to bring back good character traits, turn off video games, and enjoy life while we are here. Luciano Vallone wrote Aglio and Olio's First Adventure at 16 years old, with a vital mission: to reconnect children with the magic that comes of being a kid. In an era dominated by screens, algorithms, and digital distractions, Luciano noticed a quiet crisis growing among the younger generation. Children are increasingly disconnected from the foundational traditions of childhood- the joy of raw creation, the boundless freedom of imagination, and the simple, irreplaceable thrill of being read a story or a bedtime story to have great, happy dreams. As an author, Luciano's ultimate goal is to spark a screen-free revival. By taking young readers on a whimsical journey through Renaissance Venice with two curious kittens, Luciano crafts stories that serve as blueprints for wonder. He writes to remind parents and children alike that the greatest adventures don't happen behind a glass screen, but in the untamed spaces of our own imagination, creativity, and the great outdoors. Through his work, Luciano hopes to inspire families to put down their devices, step outside, create boldly, and dream without limits.
