I stumbled upon this book in a Walmart bargain bin. I hadn't yet heard of the author or the book. The cover and title drew me in. I'm so glad I took a chance on a new experience because it really paid off for me. The book takes off from the beginning. I loved the gossipy tone used in the opening chapter. I felt like I was attending the funeral, trying to get all of the tea. It was deilghtfully sinful. I enjoyed the crisp, fun, light tone of the book and appreciated the sensitivity used to narrate the traumatic and life-altering events these women experienced over their lives. Although the topics were heavy, it didn't feel like I was internalizing it. I was able to learn from it instead of absorbing it, which is important for me as an empath. Hepworth kept me guessing until the end regarding the characters, Stephen's (the groom's) actions and I was only about 85% about what I felt about him. It wasn't until the epilogue that I was confirmed that I was on the right track. I loved that it kept me engaged until the very last word. This was a very well written book that I could easily see as a movie or limited series. I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense, drama, and complicated family dynamics. There are some tough and sensitive topics addressed, however the author used excellent taste while navigating these sensitive topics.

Lots of twist and turns. So much things came out in each chapter having to piece pieces of puzzle. Such a good book!
