What a great start to a new series, I really enjoyed this story, it had very diverse, likeable characters and is set in beautiful Montana.
Wealthy ranch owner, Cordell Rand (Cord) was staring at the stunning red head who had called to pick up his adorable niece, Sally. Cord was the owner of the huge Coyote Falls Ranch, he had a team of loyal hands led by his best friend, West, and he treated them well.
As a famous champion bull rider, cord had won the treasured belt many times until a bull called Wrecking Ball wrecked his career and almost cost him his life.
Lanie Parker was the red head who had come to pick up her best friend, and Cord's sister, Winnie's daughter. Lanie had spent a long time in the wilds of Alaska studying the habits of wolves,
she was attracted to the ruggedly handsome cowboy, but even though Winnie was trying her best to matchmake, Lanie was insistent on finishing her studies, she was just waiting her a grant to come through.........until.
The romance between Lanie and Cord moves at a pace, she was able to turn the beautiful ranch house that Cord and West had built, into a home, but there were hurdles to climb, Lanie had been given a grant to return to Alaska, how would Cord keep her at Coyote Falls instead of leaving to follow her dream, could he deny her that dream, could he find another way ?
Cord's disagreeable neighbour desperately wanted Cord's ranch and would go to any length to obtain it..........but just how low would he stoop ?
This story follows the driven, workaholic Cord and hot tempered, nature lover Lanie, as they climb the hurdles one by one. Cord tries so hard to please Lanie but is he trying in the right way ? Lanie has fallen in love with Cord but is love enough or does she still long for her wolf blanket and her tent in the cold wilds of Alaska.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
