This is another great story in Sofia Aves's hockey series, it is a short story but the content is gripping.
Knox Vandervere was a star of the Jericho Chimera Ice hockey team, he was a well known and well loved figure, adored by the fans but Knox wasn't always sweetness and light, he had worked hard to get where he was, he had stayed focused until...........
Knox's focus was smashed when he imagined seeing a face in the crowd, a face from the past, a face that was always in his thoughts, in his dreams, the face of a girl who had been his childhood sweetheart, the girl that he imagined spending the rest of his life with, the face of a girl who had walked out on him just as he had been spotted by the Chimeras, just before his parents died.
In the empty car park, Knox saw the couple arguing in the pouring rain, he saw the man drive off and leave the girl there with no way of getting home, in fact, now no home to go to, that girl was Felicity Murphy, the girl who had taken residence in his head since high school.
Felicity went home with Knox, she had nowhere else to go but there was no place that she would rather be, she had never forgotten her first love.
When Knox finally heard Flick's story he was in full protective mode, someone would pay for this and pay heavily.
This story follows the fast, furious and hot second chance romance of Flick and Knox, it has some tender moments but it also has some very disturbing darker moments.
Hockey, Knox's team and coach, play a big part in this story, they want him in the team, they have his back, Knox has lost Flick once, it won't happen a second time.
