A wonderful spin on a much-beloved fairy tale, New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James’s When Beauty Tamed the Beast is heart-soaring and fun historical romance at its finest.

Miss Linnet Berry Thrynne is a Beauty . . . Naturally, she's betrothed to a Beast.

Piers Yelverton, Earl of Marchant, lives in a castle in Wales where, it is rumored, his bad temper flays everyone he crosses. And rumor also has it that a wound has left the earl immune to the charms of any woman.

Linnet is not just any woman.

She is more than merely lovely: her wit and charm brought a prince to his knees. She estimates the earl will fall madly in love—in just two weeks.

Yet Linnet has no idea of the danger posed to her own heart by a man who may never love her in return.

If she decides to be very wicked indeed . . . what price will she pay for taming his wild heart?

Any book that makes me look forward to another day so that I can make more progress on the book itself is a good one for me, including this. Both Piers and Linnet are so cute together. The basis of this book is extremely interesting as well, not often seen in the other historical fiction books I've read: Piers is a doctor. Okay, maybe he has a bad temper and a sharp tongue, but he truly cares for his patients. He may not have the affinity to care in terms of the emotional aspect, but that's where Linnet comes in, to 'tame' him. I love how Linnet handles Pier's character.

Oh, and can I say I'm so glad Linnet's father and aunt never appeared in the later chapters ever again? They are the most annoying characters in this book, constantly putting down Linnet. Her aunt is the worst: suggesting that she get herself pregnant by going to a brothel. A BLOODY BROTHEL. What kind of aunt does that? And the father: he agrees to let his own daughter find a man to knock her up so that there's a chance she can get accepted as Pier's future bride. I'm glad Linnet isn't stupid enough to follow through. She knows how to respect herself, and that's one of her qualities that I like a lot.
