This book was not a "self-help" book per se, but more of a self-awareness/self-reflection book. It delved into a lot of the science, on an understandable level behind trauma, childhood experiences and how they affect us as adults, as well as how societal systems work with trauma. I learned so much and I thought it was very insightful.
Judge Esther Salas recommended this book. Skimmed. I don’t think I’m in the right space to read it. But also, I don’t normally enjoy these type of books. I prefer my healing to be talked out in person with friends or in therapy. Books on the subject just sort of leave me flat. Like the body keeps the score was so scientific and not helpful.
It sort of explains how trauma affects a person and how it shows up in kids at school.
