so much pain and anxiety omg.
i’m not one for trigger warnings but PLEASE READ THEM. this book was a LOTTTTT darker than the first one and my heart hurt so so much reading it because although it’s fiction, to some degree this could be someone’s reality & it makes me so sad to think about.
i NEEEED VENGEANCE against Bernadette, Archie, and Chris in book 3 as much as i need air to breathe. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE BOOK ENDS ON THIS MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER?!?!!

I hope Stacey & Kade have a happy ending, or at least an ending together😩 Tbh im surprised they’re both still alive after all they’ve endured. i love them so much and how deeply he cares about her despite everything. The misunderstandings between them coming to light just makes me scream at the book even more. And now you’re telling me his sister and best friend are involved in this crazy mess too? God help me.

Thrilling. Disturbing. Hopeful & Depressing.

I'm DNFing the series here.
This was not dark nor smutty.
The H continues to not be able to rescue himself.
The doormat heroine was even more of a doormat in this one.
There were not many spicy scenes in this one at all.

I listened to the audiobook. What a waste of an amazing cast.

An extension of the fist one, a lot darker and triggering but that's what dark romance is all about. The shift of the story and Stacey standing up for herself, finally, was something that was very much needed. The turmoil and the abuse she endures is so crazy. Very hard to read but it fits with the story.

Better and more development from the last book. We really get more in depth on the history of Kade and Stacey. I still find Kade a bit angsty and just mind of a door knob sometimes. He just reacts with no thoughts but he is supposed to be this amazing assassin? Stacey is a little of.... both under and overwhelming at the same time? Underwhelming when its important to just get it off her chest and overwhelming when she over EXPLAINS EVERYTHING. At points, I just want her to shut up and move on.
