Restitution (The Edge of Darkness: Book 3) (The Edge of Darkness Trilogy)

THE WEAPON THEY CREATED

WILL BE THEIR DESTRUCTION

The line between sense and madness blurs as Kade seeks revenge on those who destroyed his life. They threatened his family, shattered his sanity, and then they stole his girl. He'll sacrifice everything to save them all, even if it means war.

Stacey Rhodes has been to hell and back, and now she's trapped by the monster who stole Kade from her. But Stacey isn't backing down - she'll do anything it takes to save Kade, no matter the cost.

Can she free them both from Bernadette's clutches before war consumes everyone they care about?

As this is a dark romance, the author highly recommends reading the 'content warning' page.

I will be needing a contemporary romance to recover. This story was tragic, disturbing, beautiful, and heartbreaking. It’s officially one of my favorites. Please take your mental health into account prior to reading as the topics discussed are dark and graphic

Great, albeit emotional heavy series. The characters, the relationships, the twists, all of it worked but definitely read the content warnings before diving it.

Kade is a great "morally grey" love interest. Complex, intense, and deeply flawed, but written in a way that still makes you understand and care about him. The relationships were a huge strength, and the emotional connections are what kept me going. I loved how Stacy grounded Kade, created boundaries and a safe space for someone who couldn't do that on his own. She felt very real.

The pacing dragged for me toward the end of Book 2 and into Book 3. Some of the tension and conflict felt a bit stretched out, like the story stalled in place without enough forward movement. But the emotional payoff at the end made it worth it. The HEA was probably one of the best that I've read. I also think the heavier content (there's a lot of it) was handled well. It felt respectful and intentional rather than gratuitous.

Overall, if your comfortable with dark romances, I definitely think this is one to read.

Look I'm glad they reconnected or whatever. I'm happy we had development with Tobias. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care for the language and maid/butler dialogue. Just let things play out. You don't need to tell me every single move before it happens.
