A lover of dark romance and secret societies? Here's a popular one. Desperate for a spicy duet narration? This should satisfy the needs. Teddy Hamilton narrates the male characters. And who doesn't love Teddy Hamilton? Let's be real. The storyline overall? Mid. I don't think the author entirely understands the male perspective in certain areas because there is a ton of "punch him in the d*ck" or "suck my d*ck" language. Every once in awhile? Sure. Continuously? No. It feels forced. There are even bits of Xavier's conversational bits that just don't feel right. It's sometimes too direct or just feeding the reader information... a lot of maid and butler serving. Even some of the conversations between June, Raven and Delilah is just awkward. It's usually only about sex and no further depth. I understand the thought of light in the dark, which is what Delilah is to Xavier... BUT Xavier's obsession is just a little... uncalled for? I mean she stabbed him in the begging and that's all he needed? Instead of love at first sight, love at first stab? I also wished that they would of explained Ben's background discovery a bit more and Brenda just dropped off out of no where? I also hate how often Delilah questions Xavier's motives, because time and time again he keeps proving his loyalty to her. Last thing, I wish the overall language of the book was switched up. The author CONSTANTLY uses the word "empire" in every other sentence. C'mon people don't really talk like that. You could of easily just have said, "I'll be taking over the family business" or "my family is one of the leading operators of the medical industry." "Empire" is just soooo.... elementary writing? Things I loved: ▲ the bride hunt! I loved the way this flowed and it was so compelling to see the development. ▲ the potential love triangle
