Throne of the Fallen (Prince of Sin)

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Kerri Maniscalco makes her adult debut with this New York Times bestselling sensation, a "hot" new standalone fantasy romance (Jennifer L. Armentrout) about a dark prince battling an impossible curse--and the artist who might be the only one who can set him free.

Sinner. Villain. Wicked.

The Prince of Envy has never claimed to be a saint. But when a cryptic note arrives, signaling the beginning of a deadly game, he knows it will take more than a hint of sin to win and save his falling demon court. Riddles, hexed objects, anonymous players, nothing will stand in his way, though none of his meticulous plans prepare him for her, the frustrating artist who ignites his sin like no other...

Virtuous. Darling. Liar.

The trouble with scoundrels and blackguards is that they haven't a modicum of honor, a fact Miss Camilla Antonius learns after one desperate mistake allows Waverly Green's most notorious rake to blackmail her. To avoid a ruinous scandal, Camilla is forced to enter a devil's bargain with Envy, little expecting his game will awaken her true nature . . .

Together, Envy and Camilla must embark on a perilous journey through the Underworld--from glittering demon courts to the sultry vampire realm and beyond--while trying to avoid the most dangerous trap of all: falling in love.

I really enjoyed this book. Kerri Maniscalco has some YA books within this universe, but this is definitely not one of them. There is a decent about of spice in the book. If you're newer to smut, but looking to amp things up a bit, this is for you. Maybe good for all the A Court of Silver Flames girlies who want more books with that level of spice. Realistically, it's probably more of a 3.5 to 4 star read, but I must have read this at the exact right time in my life because I loooooooved it. Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ to 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ The good: - I really liked the MMC and The MFC. I thought they were well written and relatively well-developed. I enjoyed the yearning, and the spicy scenes, but I also really enjoyed the dynamic between the characters outside of those scenes. By the end of the book, I could see why they were together and it was believeable. - I really enjoyed the plot. The plot itself is YA-esque, in that two people go on little mini magic adventures to get the clues they need to solve a bigger problem. There is enough smut in this book to remind you that it is definitely not YA though. - There is a plot twist. It becomes predictable part of the way through the story, but it's intentional because the author leaves little bread crumbs about. - I liked the writing style. It's not the most amazing writing in the world, but it was much better than many other books I've read. I was hooked from the start and wasn't bored reading it. There weren't any contininuity errors that I could point out, which I like. - I like the interaction between the MMC and his brothers. The bad - It ended - I'm sure there were things I didn't like about it, but nothing comes to mind which is odd because I'm a critical person :p

This book was one of my favorites. The plot twist was amazing, you think you know what’s coming but you really don’t. I wish it was more enemies to lovers, I felt like it was more forced friendship to lovers. And I loved the journey they had to go on. Kinda reminds me of a Sarah J. Maas book.

I really enjoyed this one, powered through it. It reminded me of Jane Austin meets fantasy Fae and Demons. Writing was definitely better than other books we have read, lol. Did anyone else steam over Wolf?! Anywho, was disappointed on the premise of the sequel... just didn't seem appealing enough to continue. Mainly I read the reviews the MFC is weak... but there was dragons which is cool.
