Three Sisters, Three Queens (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels)

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Philippa Gregory, the little-known story of three Tudor women who are united in sisterhood and yet compelled to be rivals when they fulfill their destinies as queens.
As sisters they share an everlasting bond; as queens they can break each other’s hearts…
When Katherine of Aragon is brought to the Tudor court as a young bride, the oldest princess, Margaret, takes her measure. With one look, each knows the other for a rival, an ally, a pawn, destined—with Margaret’s younger sister Mary—to a unique sisterhood. The three sisters will become the queens of England, Scotland, and France.
United by family loyalties and affections, the three queens find themselves set against each other. Katherine commands an army against Margaret and kills her husband James IV of Scotland. But Margaret’s boy becomes heir to the Tudor throne when Katherine loses her son.
Mary steals the widowed Margaret’s proposed husband, but when Mary is widowed it is her secret marriage for love that is the envy of the others. As they experience betrayals, dangers, loss, and passion, the three sisters find that the only constant in their perilous lives is their special bond, more powerful than any man, even a king.

This was completely off the list of what I normally read, but I found that I was very intrigued by these story, the longer I read this book. This is a story about 2 sisters, Margaret Tudor (Queen of Scottland) & Mary Tudur (Queen of France) and their sister-in-law, Catherine of Aragon (Queen of Enland/Henry Vlll 1st wife).
The story is narrated by the Queen of Scottland and it is her courage regarding divorce that created a monster in Henry Vlll to find an heir to his thrown. There is lots of tragity in this story and the lives of these three Queens, there is also, much bravery and courage in these three women. This book follows the three Queens live from 1500 to 1533....ending at the time King Henry had takend his 2nd wife Anne Boylen. There were battles, love, strategy and backstabbing all around. Lot of tragity, which is why I couldnt give it the 4 stars and yes, I realize these times were terrible if you were a women, it just seem to be more in than the rest of the good stuff....again, so sad for these 3 Queens/Sisters!
This is a book I would recommend, as it was a good read!

Love historical fiction! This was excellent. The relationship between the 3 queens and their individual struggle to find their own identity as women. Told from the 1st person view of Queen Margaret of Scotland who married the much older King of Scotland as a Tudor princess. Her marriage was to be a symbol of the perpetual peace between England and Scotland.. But then her brother became Henry VIII of England, her husband, the King of Scotland was killed in battle. She struggled to find herself, realized she could rely only on herself. Fiction yes, but what a great story.
