Thirteen: The serial killer isn't on trial. He's on the jury

This was my first legal thriller, and I'm not sure if I should have been expecting something different, but this book just didn't quite deliver what I was after. While I think the author did a great job with detail and kept my interest in the first half, I have to say that my interest waned when the days seemed to drag on and on. Then, at the end, it almost felt like there was a race to the end of the book and all of the action is crammed into that last 10% which created a lot of confusion in the rush. Some elements of the story didn't quite add up either, and this is the type of genre where I feel like I should not have to suspend reality in order to appreciate the book. But when the murderer sneaks into a hotel room to commit murder, then locks the window and door of that hotel room... how does he get out again, so as to not get caught? 🤔
