The Walking Dead, Vol. 1: Days Gone Bye

I was actually reading the Volume One Compendium of the Walking Dead. I was drawn to the storyline and the little stories behind the characters. I could never imagine how it would feel to wake up in the hospital after being shot to a zombie apocalypse. I honestly could not put it down and this is my first time ever reading a graphic novel so it did take a little getting used to reading it, but I really liked it and this has made me be more on the look out for more graphic novels. I will more than likely read the next one as I am curious if they ever find out how it all got started.

The beginning of the series that changed the comic world forever. This more serious comic shows the world after a zombie outbreak has taken place and through the yes of Georgia sheriff Rick Grimes. Rick wakes after being in a coma (from a gunshot wound in the line of duty) to find the world overrun with zombies. He tries desperately to track down his wife and son and make sense of what the hell is going on. He'll soon learn that you can fight the dead, but you must fear the living in this new world.

Even if you're not a big comic reader (or not at all) there truly is something for everyone in this amazing comic series. Be forewarned though, it's graphic and violent, even in black and white.

Yes, I know this is only a comic book. But, if you like the tv show or you like zombie books that are about the changes in people trying to live through the apocalypse, I recommend it.

I feel bad for that horse.

Totally different than the show. I enjoy the show a lot more, but I feel like this added to the experience of it all. It's definitely worth the read to kill the time until the new episodes in October.
