Let's talk about Saga Volume I :)

I gave this graphic novel a 5/5 stars (though it deserves more)

Why did I like this graphic novel???

1. The Artwork. Honestly, I have only read one other graphic novel in my life, and i really did NOT like the artwork in that one, but wow. This graphic novel had such amazing artwork. The colors were amazing and well picked out, just everything. I loved the style, i loved everything.

2. The Characters. Alright, the characters were fantastic and I really believe they went through a lot of character development even though it wasn't that long... The girl was absolutely hilarious (the humor was another thing I LOVED, it was subtle at times but still loved it) and the guy was so interesting as well. I truly thought they stuck to their personality the whole way through. I truly liked the villains of the story too, especially the man (forgetting the name of him but he was great) The stalk was very creepy and great. Ishabel (i think???) the ghost was kinda irritating to me, not my favorite character...

3. The Plot. THIS PLOT SEEMED SO SIMPLE AND I WAS SO WRONG. I went in knowing that it was somewhat of a forbidden love story type of thing, but wow it's so much more. The love story isn't really present as you'd think. They're mainly just trying to not die. It was very action packed, and you definitely didn't know what was going to happen next.

Overall, my only complaint about this graphic novel is that...

I DON'T HAVE THE SECOND ONE, WHAT A CLIFFHANGER

Maybe 3.5 but I like to round up. Interesting world and entertaining story, but some of it was weird in a bad way (head and legs only prostitutes). Also, very violent.

Remember that moment in A Goofy Movie when Roxanne watches Max as Powerline at the last day of school assembly? And she's just 100% SMITTEN?

description

That's me. I'm Roxanne. Except this book is my Max as Powerline.

I have no idea why I waited this long to read this. I believe that several years ago I opened it up quickly, didn't care for whatever weird creature was on that page, and set it aside for a long, long time thinking that it just "wasn't my bag." I'm a moron.

This was gorgeous. It was also entertaining and hilarious and action packed and full of interesting characters. There is even a giant cat that can detect lying. Plus the main characters are H-O-T. Love love love love love love loved this. It's too soon to say on an overall scale, but so far, I like this more than Y: the Last Man.
