I adored the setting and characters in this romance, but it did contain one of my least favorite tropes—miscommunication. However, it did pay off in the end for me. When they did finally communicate, it was ultra sweet. It’s not heavy on Christmas, either, if you prefer your holiday reads lighter on the holiday. O’Leary is great at giving her characters meaningful backstories, too. Lucas is a sweetheart and Izzy’s history is heartbreaking, which made their ending extra special.
