A story of modern witchcraft, found family and happy endings with important messages throughout. Well done!

Quirky with a hint of spice. The humor balanced the sad moments.
For me this was kind of an adult, been-there-done-that version of The House In the Cerulean Sea, which I read and reviewed, but did not rate (due to my thoughts on the inspiration the author took for the book), last year.
Charming and misunderstood children with magical abilities untapped, antagonists threatening the welfare of the children, fierce protectors of those children, and a protagonist with a sad backstory and the power to save the children from a terrible fate. Sound familiar? The differentiator here is a couple mildly spicy scenes and quite a bit of cursing (and not the magical kind).
I'm rounding my 5-star rating up to 3 from 2.5 because I suspect that if I had read this before HCS, I probably would have liked it more.
The good news is that if you enjoyed that, you will probably like this too.
Absolutely loved this book! Just a cute story about love and human connection. A different take on witch lore as well which was refreshing.
This is the most adorably written book, what a cute story. I loved the characters and the story line. This book was one I received in my Book Club box from Once Upon a Time. I am so happy I got it because honestly if I would have seen it on a shelf at the store, I probably wouldn't have read it.
