A warm and enchanting book that will warm the hearts of all those who read it. The story follows Mika Moon, a 30-year-old Wicca, and how she has to teach three young witches the capacity of their powers. They are hidden in a house by loving mortals where a ward prevents people from finding them.
Mika does not want the girls to grow up as she did, mistrustful and alone in the world. She always felt The Very Secret Society has strict rules and regulations that make it difficult for witches and isolates them from each other. She is scarred by her past and refuses to let this happen to her trio of young witches.
What I enjoyed was the slow development of the romance between her and Jamie, as well as how all the charactersâ relationships are with each other. The common denominator is the love and care they have for each other. Something Mika never had before.
The plot had some surprising metaphors. There are those who hate things they do not understand. There are those who will try to benefit and use you to their advantage.

I really loved the cozy atmosphere going on, and this is definitely THE BOOK for autumn!
I found the book a little bit childish (which isn't a bad thing, just not something I would really expect from a adult book), and seeing all the characters from the childish perspective got a bit weird when things got romantic.... The ending was also a bit cliché and cringy, but apart from that everything was alright.
Nearly everything happening was expected, I knew how it's going to end, knew what each character is going to do, so I didn't really experience any plot twists or surprises.
But I still really enjoyed this calm and cozy read :)

This book is very cozy and the magic elements are fun and creative. I think the magic lessons and potions were my favorite parts of the book. The cast of characters is small, but they make a nice found family and the young girls are very sweet. There were some twists I saw coming, and some I didn't. I feel like the last part of the book does get a bit "wtf?" There were some events and discussions towards the end that really threw me off.
They just buried the body in the garden and tied the lawyer up in the barn? And somehow the lawyer was in the wrong for trying to make sure his client was alive and being angry that he was assaulted? I feel like there had to have been a less insane way to both set up and deal with the death situation. I understand that you want to say homophobia and racism are wrong (with the lawyer) and you want to have Primrose involved to help (with the dead sister), but this was not the way?
The romance was fine, but it wasn't the most compelling part of the book and I don't know if it was meant to be.
