Quirky with a hint of spice. The humor balanced the sad moments.

I listened to this one instead of reading it. I think the British narrator was so soothing it made me love this book more than if I had read it on my kindle. Cute little romance with some witchcraft.

This is the most adorably written book, what a cute story. I loved the characters and the story line. This book was one I received in my Book Club box from Once Upon a Time. I am so happy I got it because honestly if I would have seen it on a shelf at the store, I probably wouldn't have read it.

“The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches” by Sangu Mandanna This is a warm, magical novel that brings together found family, tender romance and a heartfelt self-discovery. The adorable characters of this story made the journey feel fresh, especially with the lead, Mika Moon. She just radiated so much warmth and sunshine throughout the book. It was lovely witnessing her journey towards growth that truly moved me. And the way she bonded with the residents of Nowhere House added a little extra charm to the book. I guess I’ve encountered all the elements that a cozy fantasy has to offer with zero high-stakes drama. This is a sort of novel that we get to finish with a gentle smile and satisfaction. It was a smooth, comforting ride all the way through. Not recommended for readers who prefer tension and complexity as they might find this book a bit too soft.
