The characters in this book are extremely one dimensional. The mom is depressed. The teen-ager is sarcastic. The uncle is kind. The friend is helpful. They all can be described in one word. The relationships are stereotypical and unbelievable. There plot was interesting but being played out in such unrealistic ways that by the end I was glad it was over. In many ways this is more cheesy than a Nicholas Sparks novel. Not my kind of book.
