This was such a lovely, thoughtful read.
At its heart, this isn't just a story about books. It's a story about grief, forgiveness, identity, and discovering who you are when life doesn't turn out the way you expected. I found myself becoming emotionally invested in September's journey and quietly cheering her on as she learned to move forward without forgetting the people she loved.
One of the things I appreciated most was that the characters felt real. They made mistakes, frustrated me at times, and grew in believable ways. I found myself genuinely angry with some of their choices while rooting for others to find happiness.
The biggest surprise for me came in the epilogue. It completely changed how I viewed one character, and it was one of those quiet moments that stayed with me long after I finished the book.
I also loved the reminder that books connect us. Sometimes we read to escape, sometimes we read to heal, and sometimes we read to better understand ourselves. This story beautifully captured that idea.
While it didn't leave me feeling changed, it left me feeling hopeful, and sometimes that's exactly what a good book is supposed to do.
