The Notebook

The unforgettable, heartbreaking love story from a New York Times bestselling author about a young socialite and the boy who once stole her heart--now an iconic motion picture starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

At thirty-one, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At twenty-nine, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about Noah. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle...

Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story--it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again...

This book touches deeply on the experience of aging. No one necessarily prepares us for the emotional pain of watching our parents grow older, seeing my mother suffer from arthritis and my father battling dementia has been incredibly difficult. It's truly a heartfelt story.

OMG! I cried through pretty much the whole book- Yes I've seen the movie- but the book was great. I really wish that everyone could find a love like that. Is that person really out there? I thinks it's more like finding someone who is just as willing to give and take as you are. It's about letting you be yourself no matter what.

This was a cookie cutter book that seemed to be written from a Creative Writing Class 101. It got me. It got me good as in sobbing crying and tugging on my heart strings; however, I could see through all the emotion and see that it surely was not great writing. I would never pick up another book by this author. Life's too short for poor writing.

I have never seen the movie and wanted to read it first before I ever watched it. I thought it was a beautiful story and see why everyone loves it so much.
