I so did not enjoy this book. Where is the Jennifer Weiner of "Good in Bed" and "Little Earthquakes"??? This is a story of a woman who writes a script for a TV show and how it all goes wrong.

The main character ends up with someone who is as "imperfect" as she is...so does that mean she wasn't worthy of a Brad Pitt or Ryan Gosling??? There are these ridiculous tangents that are completely pointless...such as when the main character is sitting in a restaurant and there is a Mel Gibson-type character nearby and an entire page is devoted to describing what a jerk he is. There is NO interaction b/t him and the main character. What was the point??

There were continuity issues. The childhood friend was allergic to wheat and dairy, but on the next page they were going to get a slice of pizza. The main character goes into her room and locks the door, then Grandma comes into the room...in the same paragraph. It doesn't say anything about her having to unlock the door. Did no one edit this book? Ugh!

I miss the old Jennifer. Her first several books were amazing. The character development, the plot, etc. There was no growth to speak of in the characters here. It was basically a "this is why my crap-tastic TV show didn't last" story w/out taking any of the responsibility for it.
