The Midnight Library

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?

As someone who struggles with rumination this book really resonated with me. It’s kind of like a self help book but better, because it’s in the form of a story. It was short and easy to read, so it was perfect for getting me back into reading.

‘We only know what we perceive. Everything we experience is ultimately just our perception of it. “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”’

A little predictable and had two editing mistakes where Molly was called Nora, but a fantastic concept and overall incredibly executed. I feel my book of regrets is lighter finishing this read. Highly recommend to those who ruminate or mourn other versions of themselves that could have been.

I really wouldn't want to be anywhere but where I am now and life isn't even half over. Still so much possibility ❤️ Beautiful novel.

I enjoyed it but didn’t love it as much as people rave. Clever, though!

A bit of an odd premise that took me some time to get into but a great message.
