This is Jane Harper’s third book, and it is a stand alone, not part of her Aaron Falk series, but it is so good! It is set in the harsh landscape of the Australian outback, a character in itself, at a cattle station. While it is about a mysterious death, it is also about a secretive and dysfunctional family. I could not put it down!

When I first started this book, I wasn’t so sure about it. It roped me in and will stick with me for a long time!

Jane Harper is an amazing storyteller! I was captivated from the first page to the last. Try as I might, I could not predict the solution to the mystery. Suspenseful, atmospheric, character- and plot-driven, this was a wonderfully satisfying read!
