Meh, it was okay. It helped get me closer to my 2024 reading goal but honestly, it wasn’t great.
Mostly was just repeats of thoughts over and over again, not sure why every single chapter needed to end with a question/cliffhanger.
Honestly, I would only recommend reading it if you’ve already read the other two and want to know the ending.
The first 80% of the book was boring and the actual end was so rushed and just predictable.
I’m glad that we got to understand an ending to the housemaid series. I’ve always been a fan of Millie
This book was lackluster in comparison to the others. There are some plot holes that were unnecessary and senseless. I was disappointed with this one.
The story follows Millie and the family she’s built with Enzo as they move to the suburbs with their children. However, after a few interactions with their new neighbors, Millie begins to question whether the move was the right decision.
This was my least favorite book in the Housemaid series. In the earlier stories, Millie is portrayed as a naive yet sharp and perceptive woman who picks up on subtle signs that something is wrong. But in this new installment, it feels like her character was completely rewritten. A lot happens within her own family, right under her nose, and it’s hard to believe the old Millie wouldn’t have caught on. Her character in this book just didn’t feel true to the Millie we’ve come to know from the previous books.
