Read this to my students and this is the rating they gave it. I would’ve done a 2 probably.

The story was not grabbing me, and I didn’t really care for the characters all that much. It did have some good stuff in it but not enough.

Okay yes this isn’t a book with so much adventure. However, the main point is amazing and those that have missed the message should read it again and have your bible with you. Shasta is an orphan that is found by a stranger. He was taken in by someone that did not love him like a son but treated him like a slave. Shasta believed that everything in his life has gone wrong and he was all alone through his ordeals. However, everything he has gone through from infant to adolescence the Lord was there helping him throughout his life to get His Child to his true home. Shasta went from a slave feeling alone and unloved to a prince, the son of royalty and it was a great reunion when he finally returned home.

He walks beside, when you have lost your ability to see the path ahead and the dangers that lurk in the shadows. When you think you are alone you will see His footprints walking beside you. You are royalty for you are the son/ daughter of the one true king 👑🕊️

It started really strong, I enjoyed the introduction of Shasta, his dreams, Hwin and Bree, and then mentioning King Edmund and Queen Susan. During the individual adventures of Aravis and Shasta, I was quickly detached from the storyline.

Side note - I feel so included when the author makes us have opinions on the actions of the characters by letting us know better even when they don't. That is amazing and unique!
