In darkness God's truth shines most clear.

Corrie ten Boom was the first licensed female watchmaker in the Netherlands who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable ministers of hope in the twentieth century.

In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers escape from the Nazis. In 1944 their lives were forever altered when they were betrayed, arrested, and thrown into the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her family survived.

This is her incredible true story--and ultimately the story of how faith, hope, and forgiveness triumphed over unthinkable evil. For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continues to declare that God's love will overcome, heal, and restore.

I have this on Audible. She is one of my favourite saints (in the New Testament sense). An absolutely amazing story of courage, all the more amazing for it being real.

It's hard to rate a book that is a true, historical recording of events. The ten Boom family's profound faith during such horrific times is truly inspirational

Wow, what an inspiring legacy Corrie left. Praise God for people like her and the ways He uses us to bring hope and grow the Kingdom! This was also a great book for discussion in book club.

Wonderful, heartbreaking, and encouraging all at the same time. Tells the story of Corrie Ten Boom, a woman who along with her father and siblings hid Jewish people from the Nazis during the occupation of Holland in World War II. She describes her early life experiences and faith that led the family to act after Holland surrendered in the war, their work to hide their friends and neighbors and strangers in need, and how they were eventually caught and imprisoned by the Gestapo. On top of a riveting story, it’s a beautiful tale of how love and faith overcome the deepest darkness in life, and how powerful forgiveness is to heal abuse, trauma, and shattered communities.
