I can’t help but think about the hardships people of color faced during the time that Eleanor Roosevelt and Dr. Bethune were alive. It’s even harder to remember that those same people still face some of the same unnecessary hardships today.

This book was so well written. I love how they added to an existing story. It makes me want to dive into this era of women and learn more.

The group generally liked the book though we felt it got a little repetitious and we wanted to know more about Mary!
