I just read this in a single sitting. I didn't even remove my butt from my chair. And I'm not even remotely upset that I just spent a good chunk of my Sunday afternoon on this.

I don't know if I'm the target audience for this or not. I don't have a lot of comic/graphic novel experience, but I do know a good story when I read it. And this is a good story. Essex County is made up of three separate sections in which the characters intersect. That's the simple description. What I really want to shout from the rooftops is that there is so much about life and love and youth and aging and loneliness using words and illustrations and expressions. It is a bit heavy and a bit depressing, but it is also extremely beautiful.
