Date approximate. Read for Bookclub, barely remember it beyond settings and the outlines of reactions from the characters. It has interesting grids and Line Wolf & Cub influence.
I adored this and ordered the next three within minutes of finishing. I am not going to do any recap or huge review, but here are just a few thoughts.
-It isn't very dialogue heavy, but the art speaks enough to make up for any lack of words.
-The world feels Walking Dead like, but I don't think I can pinpoint why because just being post-apocalyptic is not reason enough.
-I am seeing a lot of gushing about Gus, but he hasn't actually grown on me much yet. I also don't care about his "sweet tooth" and find it irrelevant (other than baiting?), so I am really, really, really hoping something comes of this especially since it's the name of the series.
-I love not knowing who is good and who is bad. I love that in this environment, the good/bad lines are blurred based on survival and on losing the former civilization and structure.
I am really excited to see what the next volumes have in store.
4 Stars because I don't want to give up the goods just yet
