I just finished "The Cabin" by Natasha Preston and I must say, it was an intriguing and thrilling read. The story follows a group of friends who decide to spend a weekend at a remote cabin in the woods. However, their peaceful getaway soon turns into a nightmare as they face dark secrets and unimaginable dangers.
Preston's writing style is gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The suspense and tension build up gradually, making it difficult to put the book down. The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and motivations, adding depth to the story.
The setting of the cabin in the woods adds an eerie atmosphere to the narrative, creating a sense of isolation and fear. The author does a fantastic job of describing the surroundings and making you feel as if you are right there with the characters, experiencing their fears and anxieties.
The plot twists and turns keep you guessing and the pacing is just right, ensuring that the story never becomes stagnant. There were moments that genuinely surprised me and I found myself turning the pages like crazy to find out what was in store for them next.
Overall, "The Cabin" is a captivating thriller that will keep you hooked until the very end. If you enjoy suspenseful and mysterious stories, I highly recommend giving this book a read.

What a fun spooky September read! I will say it was kind of funny there was a case of insta-love when the character actually asks herself can insta-love be real. This girl has known someone for all of 2 days and decides he's the only one she can trust, much more than the 4 friends she's known since childhood. She is also the most goody goody person that ever was to goody good. She has only ever kept 1 secret from her friends and feels the most shocking sense of betrayal that any of her friends has ever kept a secret from her. In spite of this, I really enjoyed Blake and I understood his anger and abandonment issues and I would have really enjoyed this book from his perspective. The ending took me totally surprise which was pretty fun!
Once again whoa! I need to meet this author and find out how in the world she comes up with this stuff! This is my 2nd book by her and I plan on reading all I can. I’m still reeling from finishing this book, but I’ll say this if you love thriller-who-dun-it type books then you won’t want to miss this. Fast paced with an interesting MC (though I have questions about her friends though…) I would recommend this to every YA and adult reader.
