Before I go on a rant I want to say, I loved the premise of this book. A group of men read and discuss romance novels to gain insight into their partners.

I was all in and ready to rate this 5 stars then around 60% I realized the author was going to put all the blame of the downfall of their relationship on Gavin. At the very end she put some of the blame on Thea, but it really was 90% of the book Gavin trying as hard as he could to put their marriage back together and Thea being upset with him. I really needed a flashback to when she told him to leave because I had to hard time imagining the scene playing out in a way in which he was supposed to realize it was a test and stay. Thea's sister Liv was borderline intolerable. I want to read the next book, but I'm apprehensiveness because Liv is the FMC.

Also, a couple things were unclear to me: how old are Gavin and Thea? She was in college when they met and got pregnant within 3 months. This is 3 years later, so are they 23yrs old? Plus Thea's younger sister is there but she also seems like a fully grown adult. Now the twins - if we're to believe the timeline of this story, those girls are under the age of 3yrs, but they are fully speaking and acting like 5 yr olds. All these issues could have been fixed by just aging everyone up. I don't know why the author needed her MCs to be in their early 20s and only be married 3 years. How about make them married 5 years that would have made the girls a believable age and made the MCs age match the way they acted.

I really really hate when mundane details pulls me out of the story, but we all know that happens. Great writing is in the details.

Cute story but not all sunshine and roses. The conflict was perfect and some comedic moments made it realistic. The characters were all awesome. I didn’t have a favorite.
