People are rating this book majorly on the comparison to Zade Meadows. Aero and Zade are not comparable except that they both stalker their woman. People are saying the scar makes him a wanna-be Zade, but Aero has several pointed-out facial scars from his trauma.

To get into the review, overall, I liked this book. This works through trauma and revenge through the destruction of religion. It discusses traumas from within the church and manipulations from people in power.

I agree with some reviews saying they expected more work towards destroying 18 years of teaching via the church and it taking more temptation to make her leave the church. It was a very quick "I've suddenly forgotten everything I've spent my life working for"

Regardless, the smut is well written and the revenge story had me captivated through to the end of the book.

That sik luv

Wow, okay, where to begin.
Spice! That's a good start. While this tale was pretty dark in theme the spice was off the charts hot! The detail just blew my mind.
So why the three stars? The story, outside the spice was a little disjointed for me. One minute she's sweet and innocent and the next she's a total bad b. It was like a switches flipped and lost me a little.

Jescie Hall does it again! I went into this somewhat blind. I was reading this in a buddy read and started way after everyone else. So I did talk to my friend about the story and she wasnt digging it at first. We discussed it with our other friend and she put things into more of a perspective for us and she restarted when I started. IT WAS WORTH IT!

This story was a RIDE! At first there were things that I was kind of rolling my eyes toward. Its religion heavy, and with some books that are religion heavy, I will DFN. But I kept on trucking and once things started falling into place *chefs kiss*! The twists this story took I was not expecting. I was at a good 4 stars until the very end of the story. It bumped it up to a 5 star read.

There is graphic violence in this book. Along with graphic scenes of abuse so I would check your triggers and content warnings for this book. I dont want to say too much because Im scared to give too much away.

But I definitely recommend!

I did enjoy the book..... the suspense was nice. It was the only aspect that made me go forward to complete the book. I think the actual plot was less in quantity, and the book was 5oo+ pages. And also I felt a few similarities with the Cat and Mouse Duet of H D Carlton. The rose at the end of the paragraph that signifies a shift of scenes, almost similar meaning dialogues, and scars on face. e.t.c
I also know that similarities in taste between authors are common, but the rose...... I think not.

If you love dark romance - this book is one you need to read! Add it to your TBR. (But also check for TW first, okay?)

While the plot/storyline delves into a very dark perspective of organized religion, it can also draw parallels to possible real-life scenarios (especially power structure struggles within religion). This unsettling and contemplative aspect becomes more pronounced if one chooses to explore that line of thought.

In general, I adored Aero and Briony. Naturally, there's our exceptionally morally ambiguous main male character, and your heart aches for him, while the character evolution and progress of our main female character are simply unique.
