Tempt Me is a billionaire boss romance set at a luxury hotel in Alaska. Abbi runs from Kansas after catching her cheating fiancé with another woman, takes a summer job at the Wolf Hotel, and somehow ends up as the personal assistant to Henry Wolf. He is the arrogant older billionaire who owns the place. I was ready for Alaskan scenery, rich man drama, forbidden office tension, and a little scandal. What I got was a man who made me deeply uncomfortable and a heroine who needed someone to take her phone, repack suitcase, and revoke her decision-making privileges. Abbi is twenty, sheltered, heartbroken, and saving herself for her childhood sweetheart. Yes, the same one that cheated on her and planned to come back after sowing his wild oats. Girl, stand up for yourself. I can handle an inexperienced heroine, but the virgin trope here was doing Olympic-level gymnastics. Abbi talks about sex constantly around her older billionaire boss, stumbles into sexual situations like it is her unpaid internship, and somehow keeps acting shocked when things get weird. At a certain point, her innocence stopped feeling cute and started feeling wildly unbelievable. Henry was the bigger issue. He is moody, bossy, jealous, controlling, and way too comfortable playing mind games with a much younger employee who clearly has no idea what she is walking into. The power dynamic was already questionable because he is older, richer, more experienced, and literally her boss. Then he starts pushing her, testing her, changing his mind, getting possessive, and acting like every man within ten feet of her is trying to corrupt his precious little virgin. Sir, please be normal for five minutes. The romance did not feel seductive to me. It felt like borderline emotional abuse wearing an expensive hotel robe. Henry’s hot and cold behavior made me irritated instead of intrigued. Every jealous outburst made me want Abbi to pack her bags. Belinda was also doing way too much with her jealous mean girl routine. The spice was descriptive, but I had a hard time enjoying it because I did not like Henry. A possessive hero can be fun when it feels consensual. Henry felt controlling which made the heat uncomfortable instead of exciting. Also, some of the phrasing made me pause and wonder if my hand was supposed to be itching every time I am turned on. Avery Reid saved the audiobook experience. Her narration was fantastic. I honestly thought there was more than one narrator because her character voices were that distinct. She gave the story energy, emotion, and a much smoother flow than the plot did. Tempt Me may work for readers who love naive heroines, dominant billionaire bosses, age gaps, workplace power dynamics, and messy possessive men. I needed less manipulation, fewer alarm bells, and one adult in Alaska willing to tell Henry Wolf to back all the way up.

Okay so I will admit when I'm wrong and man oh man am I happy that I was wrong about this.

READ THIS. Book 1 is hard to get into and you'll want to put it down because so much is coming at you at once but TRUST THE PROCESS. I DEVOURED the entire series because Abbi and Henry are just, WOW! We all need a Henry. The patience, the stamina, the actions. TRUST ME, just read it.

Thought this was a book I'd enjoy. I get where the author was going with this with the forbidden romance.

Henry is a predator. Point blank.

He preys on young women and here comes Abby, a virgin who was practically sheltered in her small town and what does he do? HE PRANCES.

Very hard to read as they started to build a physical relationship.

Okay so I don't know what I thought about the book I really I got to read the second one now but there's a lot of sex which I'm not saying is a bad thing but she seems so naive to the point to where she is almost borderline stupid and there's no way even a virgin could be that naive and don't so I absolutely don't like her character I don't know I have to read the second book I'll probably have more opinions than but if you want to feel hot and bothered it's a very good read for that

I finished this book in one sitting, and I enjoyed it.

I wish this was a dual POV, but it was a good read.

With that being said, I don't like that Abi went from being highly religious to suddenly all thoughts of the religion she's been raised with are gone.

The storyline would have been just as good with her just being a virgin without the loser ex and adding in some religion that is forgotten.

This is pretty spicy compared to her fade to black books.

Excellent read! Spicy and oh so good
