“A BINGEABLE FIVE-STAR READ.” —ABBY JIMENEZ, #1 New York Times bestselling author

"I loved it—brims with heart, wit, and longing.”—CARLEY FORTUNE, #1 New York Times bestselling author

The romantic and hilarious story of a professional organizer whose life is a mess, and the summer she gets unstuck with the help of someone unexpected from her past, by the bestselling author of Nora Goes Off Script.

Benefits of a summer romance: It’s always fun, always brief, and no one gets their heart broken.

Ali Morris is a professional organizer whose own life is a mess. Her mom died two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasn’t worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember.

No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardware—overalls count, right?—she meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her...by peeing on him. Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just right—like he likes what he sees. He looks at her like she’s a younger, braver version of herself. The last thing newly single mom Ali needs is to make her life messier, but there’s no harm in a little summer romance. Is there?

Summer Romance is exactly what the title promises tucked beneath the sunshine. Ali Morris has a life that looks beautifully organized on paper, but in reality is completely unraveled behind the scenes. She is a professional organizer, a mother of three, a grieving daughter, and a woman trying to find herself after divorce. Her sweatpants era is deeply understandable. Ali’s first step back into the world comes with hard pants and a dog with terrible manners. Ethan, the handsome man her dog chooses in the most embarrassing possible way, turns out to be just what Ali needs to get her life back on track. Ethan "Scooter" is her best friend’s once-troublesome little brother who has now grown into a steady and affectionate man who sees Ali as more than the mess she is trying to survive. Their summer fling starts as something light, simple, and temporary. Then it becomes a tender portrait of healing without making romance feel like the magic fix. I loved Ali’s messiness. Her grief, divorce, motherhood, and emotional exhaustion make her feel real. Ali is not a rom-com heroine who simply needs a makeover and a cute date. Ethan is adorable and supportive, but Ali keeps pushing him away. I wanted to yell, “Girl, let him love you,” at Ali so many times. He brings warmth into Ali’s life, but the real joy is watching her remember that she deserves his tenderness. It was fun watching Ali's confidence regrow as she claims a future that belongs to her. Kristen DiMercurio’s narration keeps the audiobook light and easy to sink into. Her performance gives Ali warmth, humor, and vulnerability without making the story feel too heavy. Summer Romance is a sweet summer read for anyone who loves romantic comedies with divorce recovery, single-moms, personal victories, and a love interest who shows up with patience instead of drama.

This is just a typical good feeling type of book, where a woman finds herself amongst the crazy tough hand life can you deal you. Solid read.

What a beautiful and touching story. This is my second book by this author and I adore the way she told this story. The characters were extremely likable (maybe even lovable), relatable, and beautifully flawed. I was invested in the story from page 1. It is so much more than a romance novel, I HIGHLY recommend this book!!
