Summer of '69

Four siblings experience the drama, intrigue, and upheaval of the '60s summer when everything changed in Elin Hilderbrand's #1 New York Times bestselling historical novel. Hilderbrand's characters are utterly convincing and immediately draw us into their problems, from petty to grave...To use the parlance of the period, a highly relevant retrospective." ―Kirkus

Loved this book from the first page. Great read about the summer of 1969 historical events, pop culture, family relations and lots of rock and roll. A real groovy read.
My fourth Elin Hilderbrand book and I loved it! The story follows the Foley/Levin family during the summer of 1969. Lots of historic events are mentioned within-Vietnam War, anti-war protests, Woodstock, Apollo 11 Moon landing, etc.. Each chapter is told from different POVs- Jessie, Kate, Kirby, and Blair. Kate is the mom of the three girls; her only son, Tiger, is drafted into Vietnam. A unique feature-each chapter is the title of a song from the 1960s. A perfect beach read!
Easy read. The story flowed well. I was a young kid in the late sixties and it braught back memories.
I loved this book!
