Thank you hambright pr for this ARC. My rating and review is not contingent of me receiving this ARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own. With that being said, lets get started.
I truly enjoyed this story so much. Hazel's struggle with herself, her mother and her life was so relatable, I felt like I was experiencing a friend of mine going through this. Lucy Score has a way of writing some of the hardest experiences, mixing in some banter, a kick ass FMC and super grumpy but can be changed MMC and making a masterpiece.
If you loved Schitt's Creek, Parks & Rec and Under The Tuscan Sun, you will love this. Hazel's discovery of herself and how she is so resilient is so admirable. Loved how we were going through her writing process while reading about how her life is truly a story. HER STORY.
So beautiful, spicy and witty. All of the banter was pure perfection and the serious parts were written so beautifully, it was so enjoyable to read.
Also, let's just take a moment to discuss how we all need a Zoey in our lives. The ride or die friend that will tell you when you're not putting in the work and truly slacking.
Everything about this book was great. I loved it!
TY again for the opportunity to read it!

I really loved this book. It was a fun audio read and really made my commute to and from work enjoyable.
This book was such a pleasure to read from start to finish—I honestly didn’t feel those 528 pages at all. Lucy Score hit so many of my favorite things and even introduced me to a new favorite trope: grumpy/sunshine. I didn’t know I needed it in my life, but now it’s definitely a comfort zone.
Hazel had me hooked right away. She’s chaotic in the best way, and watching her character grow (while still being her messy, lovable self) was super satisfying.
One of my favorite parts was how the book called out that tired miscommunication trope that so many romances use as the central conflict. Hazel straight-up says she’s not into that, and I was like YES, THANK YOU. It felt so refreshing to read a romance where the drama didn’t come from people just not talking to each other.
The Bishop family was another highlight for me—I loved their dynamic, how close-knit and real they felt. And the way the town came together, especially rallying around Hazel after the breakup with Campbell? Genuinely heartwarming. I got emotional at parts in a way I didn’t expect from such a funny book.
Overall, this story was funny, spicy, sweet, and packed with heart. It had great character development, a town full of charm, and a romance that felt earned. I’ll definitely be reading more Lucy Score—this one was a total win.

Loved this book. So many funny moments, Lucy score never disappoints.
"Story of my Life" was so over the top and silly, but I loved it. A fun read after a few heavier books.
Some of my favorite quotes:
“You’re wearing a bathrobe with marinara stains on it in a dark, dirty apartment and drinking screw-top wine out of a vase,”
“I woke up to a flea-carrying woodland monster in my bed because I’m a good friend and went along with your harebrained scheme! The least you can do is get your face bitten off for me!”
“We’re here. Go away.” “Thanks, Hot Dog Fingers,” Zoey said, sliding out of the truck and onto the sidewalk. “I reject that nickname,” he called after her. I grinned at him as I released my seat belt. “Thanks for everything today, Cactus Cam.”
