Lately I’ve found myself hyper critical of romances, unable to be swayed by the comforting predictability, and Savor It could have ended up with the same fate. But try as I might, I couldn’t resist falling into this one. I adored Sage, all her ridiculous animals, and Fisher, even with the stereotypical I-may-look-like-a-bad-boy-but-really-I-have-a-heart-of-gold persona. Circumstances and dialogue that could have easily produced eye rolls were endearing in DeWitt’s capable hands. And once again, predictability became comforting again.
I liked that we learn about each of Sage’s and Fisher’s difficult backstories in this dual POV romance, but they don’t weigh down the characters, they provide substance and emotion as they move forward. It was also refreshing that our couple communicates. I definitely needed that in a romance after reading several based around lack of communication.
And what a concept. A romance with…. ROMANCE! From sexy canoe rides to intense stargazing to simply preparing a meal together, the chemistry between our couple leapt off the page. It’s an open door romance, but not overly descriptive, if you prefer your romances to leave more to the imagination.
There were also a plethora of engaging side characters, with perfect set-ups for more books, I hope, in the same world.
For me, the setting is almost as important as the characters in my romances, and the quaint small-town-farm in Oregon with all the animals, flowers, and food charmed my socks off!
Savor It was deliciously indulgent and I will happily pick up more books by Tarah DeWitt!

What a delightful and charming story. I loved the banter/humor and heartwarming story about Sage and Fisher. I felt both were so realistic and could relate to them. This book was very emotional and felt that the life lessons of family, friendship and connection were shown. Another aspect I enjoy about this author are the not common names used for characters.
Tropes: single dad (guardian), grief/healing, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, small town
