The SheReads Best Romance of the Year

An emotional, irresistible second-chance romance filled with sparkling humor, big feelings, and "melt your face off intimacy" (Jessica Joyce) from celebrated USA Today bestselling author Tarah DeWitt.

This time, they'll get it right.

Wren and Ellis Byrd fell in love as kids, had their son Sam when they were only teenagers, and built a life together in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon. They were made for one another . . . until they fell apart. Now divorced and in their 30s, Wren runs the bakery in town, while Ellis works as a firefighter. They live separate lives, though they are hardly off each other’s minds.

When Ellis and Wren move Sam into college, Ellis convinces Wren to take an extended road trip back to Spunes to see if they can give their relationship one last chance. Amid the gorgeous California coastline and the intimacy they have missed for years, Wren starts to think it just might be possible. But can the past truly be left behind? When words fail and old wounds resurface, it’s a soul-baring letter that could finally reveal the truth—or close the door on them forever.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Left of Forever is a heartfelt, emotionally rich story that stayed with me long after I finished the last page. Tarah DeWitt’s writing is poignant and beautifully layered, with characters that feel deeply human and real. While the beginning started a bit slow for me, once it found its rhythm, I was fully invested. The emotional payoff was worth the wait, and I’m so glad I stuck with it. A tender, thoughtful read that fans of character-driven romance will appreciate.

*Left of Forever* was a captivating read that swept me away from the very first page. This book was a slow-burn romance that built into something truly passionate, and made this book impossible to put down.
I especially appreciated how the story didn’t rush. It gave space for character development and let the tension build naturally. The result was a romance that felt authentic. If you're looking for a book that combines heartfelt storytelling with steamy romance, *Left of Forever* delivers in every way.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

ARC Review- “Left of Forever” follows childhood friends, Ellis Byrd, now a firefighter and Wren Byrd, now a bakery owner, who grew up and fell in love. They unexpectedly get pregnant at 17 & 18 years old, and realize that it’s time to grow up quickly and settle into their new roles as parents to son Sam. As time goes on something changes between them and they decide to divorce. It isn’t until son Sam is heading off to college that Ellis convinces Wren to take a “roadtrip” of sorts to decide if there’s still something between the two of them or if they should just remain cordial friends. Ok, so I literally loved this cast of characters in this book. There wasn’t in my opinion a single unlikable person in the story. They were perfectly imperfect and flawed and messy and real, it was fantastic! I found myself cheering for Ellis and Wren from the very beginning and all the way through to the end of the book. The love and emotions between these characters was so raw and palpable, it was electric. I love a good second chance romance and this story did not let me down. I even may have shed a tear or two around the last few chapters. Would highly recommend to anyone to who loves love and romance!
