I enjoyed the writing style of this book which is why I gave it an 8, there was something more that I needed from the story but overall a good read
I liked this book but it feels as if something was missing. Not sure what but there was a lack of something in the book that I didn’t get.
I do love that the author tells the story in first person from each persons perspective per chapter instead of third person.wouldn’t necessarily read again.
3.5 ⭐️. From the very beginning of the story all that I could think of was the Offset-Cardi B - Stephon Diggs fiasco that's currently playing out in the blogs.
Rhythm’s Blues is about Rhythm who is having trust issues with her long term partner, Raheem. He is a rapper in the spotlight and has started coming off as a playboy, which Rhythm feels is disrespectful.
After one too many blog posts and rumors of him messing with his label mate, Rhythm decides she's had all she can take and puts an end to it. Then enters Channing…
Will she stick beside Raheem or give into this walking orgasm of a man, Big C?
This was a fun, spunky, ratchet Love & Hip Hop-ish read. If nothing else, the story was funny!!! I had so many wildly entertaining and laughable moments with Rhythm and her bestie Monique. They were friend goals for sure! There was also some GRADE A explicit sex moments which, of course, I loved 📝 Channing had Rhythm throwing away every thong she owned from them being ruined 😫
The story itself, was ok. There was wayyy too much of Raheem, but it was good drama. One thing that I didn't like was that there were some repeat scenes. For instance one chapter would tell what happened from Rhythm's POV, and the next chapter would re-enact the same scene over from Channing’s POV - same words and everything. "What was the reason?"
I think the romance faltered a bit, and I’m not a fan of forced proximity. Everywhere R went, C was there! But, it was the perfect and acurate account of hook up culture that is so prevalent these days.
RB was @the_lit_circle_bookclub selection for this month and boy, was the chat group extra spicey and hilarious! I'm always excited to add new indie authors to my reading rotation so I'm glad we gave this one a try! This book currently has a 4.38 GR rating so it's definitely worth a try!
Omgg 10/10✅. It was a little messy but this teaches women not to settle for less ,what one man won’t do another man will Period !
