Resting Scrooge Face: A Short Story

I didn’t realize this was a (very) short story when I downloaded it from kindle unlimited, but it was cute and perfect for December! I like the way Meghan Quinn writes and wish this was a full novel. Book #82 in 2023

This was...cute?

I am not a big reader of Christmas stories or romcom stories. Christmas romcom stories? Not something I generally seek out. Certain movies (*cough*Hallmark*cough*) where small town girl moves to big city and returns to small town? I don't watch 'em. Unless you count Sweet Home Alabama years ago.

So why did I read this?
1. I thought it may help me get in the Christmas spirit. Melt this big chunk o' ice around my little heart.
2. I'm hopelessly behind on my reading goal this year and would like to make the gap of my failure as small as possible.

I would likely have perished if I'd read a whole book like this and not just a short story (novella? I don't know the actual word count). This was actually a perfect little dose for me. Did I roll my eyes a few times? Yes. Did I swoon? No. Did I at least enjoy this enough that I didn't gouge out my eyeballs? Good news - eyeballs are still intact!
