Okay, I picked up this book definitely cause I'm a fans of Aveyard's Red Queen series.
and to be honest I'am not regretting it, some of things I hope for Aveyard's works is pour neatly into this book.
So, this book is told from six point of view which is an Immortal named Domacridhan or Dom, the pirate's daughter called Corayne, an assasin named Sorasa, Andry the Squire, Queen Erida, and lastly Princess of Immortal Kingdom called Ridha.
The basic premise of this book is that there's an evil villain called Taristan who have the Cor Blood and can tear open a protal to other realms and unleash the great devil lingers inside and end the world.
and then there's a first group of heroes who needs to stop Taristan but they failed and ended up dead left only Andry and Dom who survived the massacred.
and then followed the journey of the rest of the characters including Corayne the Pirate's Daughter who has the Cor blood inside her and the last hope of saving the realm followed by using the Spindleblade.
In order to save the world they need help from others to aid them and then there's Andry, Sorasa, Valtik the mysterious sorceress, Charlton the Forger, and Sigil the Bounty hunter to stop Taristan and make Corayne save the realm.
"We don't choose what we're born to, Corayne" Erida Replied "We can only walk the path put it in front of us"
if you a big fan of Red Queen then you must expect the action (like loots and lots of action), betrayal, world building and plot and of course a diverse cast of characters.
For me it's a page turner book and a really good first book to pulled me right into the series.
Realm Breaker has little romance buuut, it has massive set up certain interaction between characters that hint more to come.
Of course there's a little romance in between but still it focused on the action and the massive world building that made you fall in love and obsessed to see the map.
but one thing that kiiinda turn me down is the first prologue that was a lot to take but made me take a little bit time to get immersed in the story.
and this feels like a long warning book cause this book have to introduce sooo many characters, the main conflicts. Some moments kinda bore me down make me want to cut to the chase.
there's soo many things happen but feels so flat.
The slow paced kinda killed me in the middle but weel, the pace getting more faster when the real conflicts starts. and the cliffhanger? so good.
something's that kinda bothers me is how Corayne the main hero somehow lack of personality, I don't know if Aveyard doing it to build her more in the next book, Imma see for myself when I'm done reading the next one. but her lack of personality makes her unlikeable and kinda dull, I prefer to love Sorasa and Sigil more than her.
But, I highly appreciated the lack of romance, I love the foun family troop more and I love the connections between the characters.
"Mortals are hot-blooded, quick to anger, quick to fight" he said "It has been your flaw these centuries past. Perhaps it will be your salvation too"
well, overall I lked the concept of this book it has that Lor of the Rings vibes to it. Every world build up nicely and solid, few of the characters are super likeable and I fall in love with it.
It's not bad but it's not THAT interesting either but I still gonna pick up the next book and see how it goes and how it would ended.
and yea... I'm finger crossing.
