I remember months ago, when Pivot Point book was on a wave and was getting high ratings every where. Which in turn, is my cue to back away. But beings it was on amazon for $1.99 and the Girls with Books choice for the week, I dived in. I am whole heartily regretting not reading this sooner! Pivot Point is the epitome of awesome.

Addison is a searcher. Living in a compound with other persons with supernatural abilities, she is able to "search" her future when she comes to a "cross-road" and is able to see its outcome. After the announcement of her parents divorce, Addison decides to "search" her futures-- to see both future outcomes, in hopes to help her decide which parent to live with. In one future, she stays with her Mom at the compound. The other, she moves with her Dad to the "norm" world. What she discovers is neither one is ideal but must make a decision which fate she will live out.

Good grief, this was book was awesome. The writing is OUTSTANDING. Every chapter is a separate future, alternating between each one-- and it was flawlessly executed. I loved how each future intricately weaved with the other. I was afraid I would mix up the stories but it never happened. There is much more to the plot revolving around missing girls from the compound and injured football players-- but for fear of spoilers I won't go into any details about that.

Also, there isn't too much elaboration on HOW these people in the compound are able/have these special "mind" abilities, but this is OK for me. Just one of those things that IS.

Although it is two different futures of Addison, we see different aspects of her. In both, she is smart, witty and down to earth and very like-able. She just wants to stay out of the spot light. We see how she was before the announcement of her parents divorce, but we see how she changes with each future. She's the same, yet different. GAH! It's hard to explain! I like that she wasn't hug up on herself because she was "special".

There are two different love interests. In her "para norm" we have Duke. All star football player, gorgeous, most popular guy in school. He is charming but arrogant. In her "norm" future, there is Trevor. Sweet, reserved AND coincidentally, a football player as well.. Although, after an injury is unable to play. Honestly, at first I was liking Duke more. Just for the simple fact that I felt like NOTHING was happening--or going to happen-- with Trevor. BUT. After a particular incident, early on, I switched sides. Between the two, I loved how Trevor had more in common with Addison, their cute banter and how supportive he was. All around, the better of the two by FAR in my opinion.

In the end, I was devastated because of BOTH outcomes. My heart broke for Addison because of what she had to choose between and because of what she had to do. The set up for book two was perfect and I am eagerly anticipating it's release. I will not be a sitting duck when it comes out. Hype, deserved.

Overall- By far of the best books I've read this year. Original, fun and just awesome, Pivot Point is a must read for everyone. Highly recommend.
