I didn’t know what to expect, one of my first stalker romances. Obviously some things aren’t realistic - but I loved the story! I didn’t realize it was a trilogy, but I immediately bought the second book, this one leaves us on a pretty big cliff hanger. FMCs bestie is hilarious! Them two are the perfect duo and I appreciate their relationship. MMC is on the path for revenge “who hurt you”, but will the FMC be able to handle the journey? Idk!! But I’ll find out. On to book 2!
Wasn't my favorite dark romance book, however I was still on the hook. I will still read the next one.
I came into reading this book with the mindset that he was a killer. While that is true, I was expecting to get more from that side of the story. It almost fell short in that aspect.

Listen, I tried. I really tried to like this book. Hand me a demented stalker who is tall dark and handsome and I go feral. Hayden Bennett did not hit the cliterature mark for me.
This is nothing against Morgan (The Author), I think she has GREAT potential but just missed the mark on this series.
First off, this did nothing for literary foreplay. You go from your day to day to page one going “wait, what?” But not in the fun sexy way. We need some build up.
*enter scene* give me reason to stay, give me a moment to connect to. Give me a little more world building before I’m plopped into a scene with no context.
Second off, there is so much missing from the character development that makes you emotionally invested in these characters. It’s a great idea but executed haphazardly.
Thirdly, and my final point, there is a way to convey emotion that either hits that special place in the brain or makes it too wordy and difficult connect to. Maybe I’m just too emotionally discontented/ disconnected to be able to go feel what the author was trying to build with her characters emotional responses, but it was not the right approach for me and felt like it was for the word count vs the plot line.
