Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, sets off for a run before her first exhibition. When she returns to the home she recently moved into, Spyglass, an enchanting old house in Hope Falls, nothing is as it should be. Her key doesn’t fit. A woman, eerily similar to her, answers the door. And her husband insists that the stranger is his wife.

One house. One husband. Two women. Someone is lying.

Six months earlier, a reclusive Londoner called Birdy, reeling from a life-changing diagnosis, inherits Spyglass. This unexpected gift from a long-lost grandmother brings her to the pretty seaside village of Hope Falls. But then Birdy stumbles upon a shadowy London clinic that claims to be able to predict a person's date of death, including her own. Secrets start to unravel, and as the line between truth and lies blurs, Birdy feels compelled to right some old wrongs.

My Husband’s Wife is a tangled web of deception, obsession, and mystery that will keep you guessing until the last page. Prepare yourself for the ultimate mind-bending marriage thriller and step inside Spyglass – if you dare – to experience a story where nothing is as it seems.

Synopsis from Goodreads: Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, sets off for a run before her first exhibition. When she returns to the home she recently moved into - Spyglass, an enchanting old house in Hope Falls - nothing is as it should be. Her key doesn't fit. A woman, eerily similar to her, answers the door. And her husband insists that this stranger is his wife. One house. One husband. Two women. Someone is lying. Six months earlier, a reclusive Londoner named Birdy, reeling from a life-changing diagnosis, inherits Spyglass. This unexpected gift from a long-lost grandmother brings her to the pretty seaside village of Hope Falls. But then Birdy stumbles upon a shadowy London clinic that claims to be able to predict a person's date of death, including her own. My Review: The story is told from the points of view of several of the characters. The multiple points of view add real depth to the story, allowing each character to slowly reveal their motivations, secrets, and connections to the larger mystery. From the opening chapters, the author immediately hooks the reader, pulling you into a suspenseful and layered narrative that keeps the questions coming. One of the more intriguing elements is Birdy and the secrecy surrounding her profession. Her work has clearly hardened her, and for much of the novel you’re left wondering how her life connects to Eden and the mystery at the center of the story. When the reveal finally comes halfway through the book, however, it lacks the impact the buildup seems to promise, making the secrecy feel somewhat unnecessary. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that every character is intertwined in unexpected ways, and discovering how they fit together becomes the true heart of the novel. About midway through, you also realize several narrators are unreliable, withholding important pieces of their pasts even while telling the story from their own perspectives. While this adds another layer of mystery, unreliable narrators can also be frustrating because they prevent the reader from fully piecing together the puzzle alongside the characters. Personally, I prefer mysteries that provide enough clues for the reader to solve things independently. The novel also includes several spicy scenes that feel oddly placed within the thriller narrative. Rather than enhancing the story, they come across as somewhat forced, as though the book is trying to balance two different audiences without fully committing to either. That said, the short, fast-moving chapters and constant perspective shifts keep the suspense high and make the book incredibly easy to fly through. Questions continue to build throughout, and while the ending answers most of them satisfactorily, there are a few inconsistencies that leave the resolution feeling slightly uneven. Overall, this is an engaging and suspenseful read with strong characters, plenty of twists, and a mystery that will keep readers guessing until the final reveal. The author grabs your attention from the start, and despite a few flaws, it’s a difficult book to put down.

Don't mind me...I'm just over here with my unpopular opinions 🥴 I was genuinely into this one at first. The premise hooked me quickly, and I desperately wanted to know wtf was going on. But toward the end, it lost me. I was confused, and I didn’t love the direction Feeney took with the ending. Some of the twists felt off, and certain character choices didn’t fully land. I don’t mind an unpredictable ending, but this needed a bit more clarity to feel satisfying after everything it built. It's like Feeney had all these endings in mind and threw them together to make mush pie. That said, the writing was still strong, and the psychological buildup was done really well, I just don't the plane landed right with the ending. I do appreciate that it was easy to read and I looooove me some short chapters!
